Jammu, July 24: Vanmahotsava, the annual tree plantation day was celebrated at Sainik School Nagrota in which the officers, staff and cadets planted saplings in the campus. According to press release, the function was presided over by Col Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal of the school. In his welcome address, VK Dembi In-charge Eco Club mentioned that more than 1200 saplings of different varieties of trees and plants have been planted all over the campus during the past couple of years. In another five years time, the campus will definitely improve environmentally and become a much greener campus and contribute in containing Global Warming which is a great threat to our Mother Earth. He reiterated that every individual has a stake in protecting this unique planet and that this year's focus will be to develop the ambience of the multi-purpose auditorium in the campus. At the end, the cadets were briefed by the staff about the routine steps to be taken to look-after the well-being and healthy growth of the saplings planted. |
