Locals, sportspersons resents bad shape of Poonch stadium 7/24/2016 11:13:41 PM Early Times Report Poonch, July 24: Sportspersons and locals are up in arms against lack of facilities despite restoration of Sports Stadium Poonch which lacks the facilities despite lakhs were spent on restoration of this stadium and appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch to frame a committee to investigate this whole matter. According to locals, Public Work Department (PWD) has spent lakhs of rupees in the name of restoration of SportsStadium Poonch. Alleging the restoration mere an eyewash, the locals said PWD has just cosmetic touch to the historical stadium. They further accused the department of misusing the funds in the name of development and the true fact is that the department has failed utterly to make the stadium worth sports activities. Locals namely Sahim Jaffar Hayat Purvi, Ghulam Rasool and others said the condition of the stadium is same as it was before restoration. "More than six lakhs rupees have been spent in the name of the restoration of stadium in documents, " they said.
