Rajouri Police crack down on drug peddlers
Two arrested, consignments recovered

Rajouri, July 24: Rajouri police under the supervision of Rajeshwar Singh ,SSP have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered consignment of drugs including heroin from their possession at two separate special checking points.
Since the death of three youth during last twenty days due to over dose of drug and after mounting pressure from the civil society, Rajouri police have increased their surveillance on the activities of notorious drug peddlers.
Some youth from Majority community have also voluntarily offered their services for the identification of such elements/drug addicts and getting full support from the senior police officers including SSP.
Inspector Chaman Gorkha, SHO said that after intelligence inputs a special police check point was near Post Graduate (PG) established on Rajouri-BGSB University road.
During frisking of the vehicles police intercepted a hard core drug peddler Arfaz Bukhari alias Chottu Shah s/O Munawar Shah a retired revenue official resident of Dhanour Lohara (Rajouri town).
Police recovered 170 Pravon Spas capsules, 4-pieces of silver paper pasted with Smack and 1-litre liquid drug (unidentified) .
Chottu Shah's name also figured when two youth namely Liakat Ali and Mohd Shafiq had died on July 6 in Rajouri town after over dose of drugs. He was booked by the police in case FIR No.483 /16 dt 24/7/16 under 8/21/22 NDPS Act and police have seized his car bearing registration NoJK11 B-0242.
At another checking point near government Post Graduate (PG) College police during frisking intercepted another drug peddler namely Atther Mirza s/o Moib-ul-Hassan resident of Ujhan in Darhal tehsil and recovered 5-grms of heroine.He was on way to deliever the consignment when was arrested said a senior police officer and added he was also booked by the police in case FIR No484/16 under 8/21/22 NDPS act. Police have started investigation to find out the source from where the drugs are being supplied and others who were associated with these drug peddlers in Rajouri or out side Rajouri district.
