Kishtwar July 24: in order to give boast to the road connectivity in mountainous areas of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the union Ministry of Roads and Surface Transport headed by Nitin Gadkari accorded sanction for approval to various road projects amounting to the tune of approximately Rs. 2800 Crore for construction and up-gradation of various road projects in the state under 10th phase of Pradan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yogna (PMGSY).
While chairing the meeting of District and Sectoral Officers of Kishtwar District, Minister of State for Roads and Transport Department (Independent Charge), R&B, Revenue, YSS, RDD & Agriculture Sunil Kumar Sharma said that government has taken several developmental projects in hand laid lad stress on the officers to work with zeal and zest to carry forward the developmental agenda of the government. He laid stress for better and effective cooperation among the various officials for effective monitoring of various developmental projects on ground underway in District Kishtwar.
Sharma said that union government had accorded sanction to various road projects under 10th phase of PMGSY added that union Transport Minister will soon release an amount of Rs. 2800 Crore for these roads. He said that center provide all possible help to state government in building and upgrading the road infrastructure which is key for the development in rural areas.
"Roads are key to development-my job is get the project cleared as our government efforts is to provide road connectivity to every village and PMGSY scheme is helping us a lot in this regard-now it is the responsibility of our officers to prepare projects, followed them vigorously and implement these projects on ground" Said Sunil Sharma.
He said that for upgradaton of existing Kishtwar-Batote National Highway, National Highway Development Corporation Limited (NHDCL) has floated tenders to the tune of Rs. 90 Crore added that by the end of next month or in the month of September the work on this prestigious road will be started which will surely give respite to the people traveling on this road. He said that the work on Kishtwar-Dachhan road from Dangduroo will be started in next few days after environmental committee of forest gives forest clearance to this road which is considered as lifeline to the people of Dachhan. He said that the work on Airstrip is at advance stage, beside also take serious view on slow progress of work on 55 Crore Naigard Water supply scheme, 3rd water lifting scheme from HRT, development of parking spaces, shortage of staff in District Hospital, etc. He directed PHE department to fix responsibility on officers and also directed them to clear water leakage of pipes and removal of illegal hocking. He also take serious note of non serious approach of CEO Kishtwar for dealing with the various issues pertaining to education department, particularly towards non functional of various schools including Middle School Ongae Padder and Passar Marwah which are closed since long. He also asked the Deputy Commissioner to look into the complaints of Midday meal along with functioning of Anganwari centers including distribution of nutrition. He directed District Social Welfare Officer to include every widow, poor's and downtrodden for various government run pension schemes and laid focus implementation of marriage assistance scheme. He also reviewed various ongoing developmental programs going on in District Kishtwar and directed DC Kishtwar to take stern action against non performing officers. He said that Machail village of Padder will get BSNL mobile connectivity next week and directed the officers to felicitate the smooth conduct of annual Machail Yatra.
DC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, ADC Kishori Lal Sharma, ACR Kishtwar Dr. Khald Malik, CPO Yasir Balwan, ACD Garbi Rasheed Dar, SDM Chatroo Qazi Masood Ahmed and other District and Tehsil level officers also book part in today's meeting.
