Jammu, July 25: At least two people were killed and 27 sustained injuries, when an overloaded mini-bus rolled down on the road near Phinter village in Billawer tehsil of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. ''A mini-bus, on its way from Mandli to Billawar late last night, rolled down on the road and plunged into a gorge as the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn near villager Phinter,'' a police spokesperson here today said. He said that police team and locals on getting the information rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. ''All injured were rushed to the District Hospital Kathua, where one of them succumbed, while another died while being shifted to Jammu Hospital. ''Later, another critically-injured person on way to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, succumbed to grievous injuries,'' the spokesperson added. ''Around 15 injured were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, he said. |
