Kishtwar, July 25: During a surprise checking, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Chatroo, today found the ZEO office at Inderwal locked during office hours and PHE AEE, Chatroo, absent from duty. SDM, Chatroo, Masood Ahmed Qazi, acting on public complaints about non functioning of ZEO office, Inderwal, paid a surprise visit to the area and found the office locked during office hours. He then put another lock on the office, official sources said. The locals had also alleged that teachers including ReTs were running the ZEO office in gross violation of the government orders. The SDM said the office of ZEO, Inderwal, was found locked during office hours and the matter had been brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan who had supported stern action against the absentees. He also paid a surprise visit to the office of PHE AEE, Chatroo, and found him absent from duty. "I was told that the AEE has not attended his office after his positing there," the SDM said. He said necessary action under law would be initiated against the erring officers. He also visited the hospital and asked the staff to provide best available medical facility to the people and also check the stock of medicines available. It is pertinent to mention that couple of months ago, he had placed over two dozen employees under suspension and stopped the salary of ZEO Inderwal after 3rd and 5th standard students had failed to recite the spelling of 'Elephant'. Only yesterday, he in a meeting chaired by MoS Transport Sunil Kumar Sharma here slammed the CEO Kishtwar for lack of monitoring of schools functioning in Chatroo Sub Division. |
