Kashmir Centric Leaders on same wavelength on Kashmir Issue- Fuelling only unrest
Ravinder Jalali7/26/2016 11:22:01 PM
With the killing of a dreaded terrorist in south Kashmir by the security forces, who was carrying a reward of Rupees ten lakhs, the separatists in Kashmir have given a call for complete shutdown as usual and the response was as expected but the protests claimed lives in fierce confrontation and stone pelting. He was killed along with two of his associates after he himself posted videos on social networking sites including face book to radicalise and lure youths to join the militancy. So his death, as described by the congress leader Gh. Nabi Azad, was expected at any time because the ultimate end of any person confronting the forces is self liquidating even it may cause forces to loose some or more men. Even the father of the militant expects the life of a militant is just maximum seven years and he had already lived 6 years, so the death was expected at any time.
But with the every passing day the things are being complicated by politicising the incident. The unrest that followed the killing of Burhan claimed lives of other protesters who resorted to stone pelting, throwing grenades and petrol bombs on the security forces which were retaliated by the forces proportionately. The whole episode seems to be orchestrated by the Pakistan and ISI and is carried out in the valley by the separatists as their loyal paid agents. These separatists manage to get themselves put under house arrest, to be on the safer side and provoke the masses by emotionally blackmailing then on the religious lines who come on the roads and confront security forces. The children of these separatists and the politicians of Kashmir based parties, irrespective of their ideology, do not participate in these stone pelting and even do not lead the protest so that they are not hit by any pellet or bullet. Some of their children are out side India and some are outside J&K, in other parts of India.
But the mystery with the Kashmir politics is that, to be relevant in Kashmir one has to be anti -India and pro-Pakistan and how can the mainstream politicians lag behind. Kashmir centric leaders irrespective of their party affiliation and ideology converge on one single point of opposing the centre and the central forces just to be in the good books of the separatists and militants. Some days back media started showering praises like statesmanship on the part of Gh. Nabi Azad, a senior congress leader who justified the action of security forces and accepted that the Burhan Wani was a terrorist. He also went on record to describe the mourning of Burhan in valley as unfortunate. But sensing the fear of being eliminated in valley politics, he then charged the centre and compared the Kashmir with Gujarat. I would like to remind the Gh. Nabi Azad of 1984 Sikh riots. I would like Azad to recollect the communal violence in his home town Kishtwar in J&K State on 9th August, 2013, where a group of people after Friday prayers on the day of Eid festival attacked the minority in the city. He is silent on Nadimarg and Wandhama massacres where Kashmri Pandits were brutally killed. He has forgotten Chittisinghpura massacre where 36 Sikhs were butchered on 20 March 2000, in the Anantnag district of J&K. Gh. Nabi Azad says it is backlash against RSS agenda. So it means it was already planned earlier and the timing was fixed after Idd festival and onset of Amarnath Yatra. I would like to ask Mr. Azad, is he part of the programme of Huuriyat.
The statement of another leader and MP Muzzafar Hussain Beig of PDP is disastrous and misleading. It is unfortunate that the MP of an Indian Parliament expresses doubts over the operation conducted by the security forces to eliminate a dreaded terrorist who was carrying a reward of rupees ten lacs. It straight way lends support to terrorism. Mr. Beig seems to represent the viewpoint of separatists and Pakistan. In a statement issued by Beig that the killing of security forces was against the ruling of Supreme Court is bizarre. He expects security forces to take magistrate along with for conducting operation as part of Standard Operation Procedures. Then militants are to be requested in local language to surrender. In case it will not yield results, should be followed by use of tear gas to force militant to leave the place where they are hiding. What a script for a film. It is a cruel joke and doubts his legal expertise. If it does not work, he is again to be warned. Then the forces have to shot him on lower parts of the body. Mr. Beig should understand that it is not a legal battle fought in the courts but is the actual fight where the militants are carrying arms and ammunition and the security forces are their targets. I would like to suggest Beig to be a part of a security forces operation facing the crowd of militants carrying lethal weapons including stones, grenades and petrol bomb, to feel the pulse of the operation. For a moment it seems to be unbelievable that the Beig who represents Indian Parliament issues such mischievous statements which are anti-national. I would like to ask Muzafar Hussain Beig about the SOP followed by the militants while carrying Wandhama ,Chittisinghpora and Nadimarg massacres. Why they cry only for a militant? Why they do not cry when any other civilian or Kashmiri Pandit or a security person, who protects them is killed.
Former Chief Minster Omar Abdullah is having pro-militant tone in the valley and questions Mehbooba on the governance. He has no moral right to give dry sermons to her when in 2009 and 2010 more than 100 people died during his rule. "By killing Burhan Wani, there will be more Burhans" says Omar Abdullah, is a disastrous.
Omar Farooq wanted the Indian PM to talk to him on Kashmir situation because Bilawal Bhutoo of Pakistan has talked to him. How immature is Omar? Why Indian PM will talk to him when in J&K, there is an elected govt? Why India will talk to them when they represent Pakistan and ISI for which they are paid.
All these leaders have double standard, while being protected by the central forces they want them to be killed. I would like to challenge these so called selfish leaders that if they have an iota of self respect and love for militants, let them surrender their central security and accept only local police or may not accept any security at all because after all these stone pelting boys are innocent and are not harmful. Of whom they are afraid? Why they do not lead the protest? They do not want to risk their lives. They have cheated the masses since independence by having double standard. They replaced NC and Congress just to grab power and nothing else. After all they have the common goal of getting power. This is also a game plan to disrupt Amarnath Yatra and to deprive the economic benefit to the Kashmiri by way of tourism.
