Srinagar, July 29: The partial restoration of mobile services in Kashmir valley has disappointed prepaid users who demand restoration of outgoing call service as well.
"My daughter is doing MBA and she has left for Chandigarh on July 20; since the entire family uses prepaid connections we could not contact her, we are really worried about her safety," Showkat Hakeem an employee in PHE department told 'Early Times'.
He said that the government must seriously think as to what sort of complexities people have been facing in absence of mobile phone services in Kashmir.
"Cell phone has become very important nowadays for people, we don't ask government to restore internet services but complete restorations of phone services will be highly appreciated," he added.
Pertinent to mention here postpaid mobile phone services from various service providers were restored across Kashmir valley after 20 days on Wednesday evening.
"The decision was taken to ensure that the common man is not put to inconvenience. The decision to suspend mobile phone services for the last 20 days was taken to prevent miscreants from spreading rumors," a senior officer of the provincial administration said here.
Tahir Shafaat a student pursuing M.Com in a Delhi college said "I had to return college two days after Eid however I couldn't as the situation is flaring up day by day, the ban on mobile services has added to my worries as I also could not contact anyone there in the college,"
He said that the government must restore prepaid services in Kashmir without any delay so that people could contact their relatives and friends in this hour of crises.
"People here already lives with an impression that every call is being trapped, I don't know how far is this true but if so it will be difficult for people to resort to rumor mongering under such circumstances, how long we remain cutoff," said Lateef Shah of Lal Bazar.
