Early Times Report JAMMU, July 4: The 'powerful' police SI, who owns four hotels in the winter capital city here and an under-construction restaurant at Bhatindi, has ultimately been attached to the district police lines (DPL) here. He had been managing his stay here for the past several years to look after his business concerns, but as complaints continued to pile up against him, the PHQ ordered his transfer to home guards, according to police sources. Sources said as soon as he came to know that PHQ had ordered his transfer from the police post, headed by him as its incharge, to DPL, he forthwith approached a minister to get his transfer order cancelled. After the minister spoke to a senior officer at the PHQ, his transfer to home guards was cancelled. He was, however, not posted again as police incharge and was instead attached with the DPL, sources informed. Before his transfer to home guards, he had also applied for a leave of two months, but the exercise went in vain. He had a wide network of contacts in police and political circles, sources said. He is alleged to be serving in Jammu for the past several years. Whenever there was a move to transfer him to some other station, he, with the help of some senior police officers and ministers, got the process stopped, sources alleged. He was also alleged to be a partner in some other business concerns in the city. |
