Jammu, Aug 23: Staff and students of Jodhamal Public School were enthralled by the Santoor Recital by Bee Seavers an artist par excellence from Germany. Bee Seavers is an established Santoor player. Known all over the world and is a master discipline of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma Ji from whom he says he has learnt the Indian classical, although he started his career as a Jazz Player in USA way back in late sixties. He is being recognized as a European artist, who has learnt the ancient instrument Santoor from India and now he is an expert in North Indian Classical Music. He performed beautifully for the Jodhamal students and played the Pahari Dhun, Kashmiri Folk Music and Dogri tunes, and mesmerized all the students with the smooth movement of his fingers. He also gave a pep-talk to the students that one must learn to live his or her passion. Academics are really very important, but more important is what makes you happy together with success. Bee Seavers is decorated with many honours including "Roshan Ara Begum Award" the highest decoration in Pakistan for outstanding musicians. Present amongst the august gathering were Arvind Singh Amn the Additional Secretary J & K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee Jodhamal School, Arati Kuthiala, Trustee Jodhamal, Trilok Singh Bist, Principal Jodhamal, Monika Sethi, Vice Principal and all teachers and students of Jodhamal with Coordinator Nandani Bakshi, who moderated the programme in a beautiful way. |
