Anantnag, Aug 23: Hitting back, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Tuesday said that action will be taken against those employees who are deliberately avoiding duties. Interacting with media here at Dak Bungalow Khanabal after chairing a meeting of officials, Khan said, "At this point of time, I would like to remind employees whether it is a official or a low rank employee that all we are public servants and we have to standby public whatever the circumstances will be because we are being paid for that." He said that public servants are being paid to remove sufferings of public and as society, all stake holders needs come forward for bringing back normalcy in Kashmir. When asked about problems employees face particularly non-availability of transport, Khan said that there could be exceptional cases but mostly employees deliberately avoid duties. "We known the problems our employees face but we have prove ourselves during odds times as well," he added. Baseer Khan warned strict action against those employees deliberately avoiding duties. "Action will be taken against those employees who are deliberately avoiding duties," Khan said. He later, responding to a question admitted that security forces in various areas of Kashmir haven't treated their identity cards as curfew passes despite government directive. Claiming government is evaluating the situation on daily basis, Divisional Commissioner said that critical areas like availability of essentials, health and education is being addressed. "As Yesterday Education Minister made it clear, all examinations will be held as per scheduled, so we are trying to reopen schools and devising other strategies as well," he said, adding government will not allow education and children to suffer. He said that he has directed all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir division to respond to grievances of public particularly realted to black marketing and price hike. Important to mention here, Government has ordered 'no work no pay' threat to employees who have failed to join back their duties despite one and half month. Employee's Union has responded to government order by slogan Jan hai to Jahan hai. |
