Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: A senior IGP has shunned the idea of proceeding on central deputation, following an assurance from the union home ministry that it would help him to get some 'big' posting in J&K itself. "The officer is happy because he has been assured of a posting at the regional level which is considered quite significant in the state police circles. He will be getting an important posting in the state for the second time. Earlier, he held a state level post in another police wing," police sources said. He had, however, not got any big posting for the past few years. When all his hopes of getting a good posting in J&K dashed to the ground, he applied for the central deputation. Sources said when he requested his acquaintance in MHA to manage a good posting for him at the Centre, the latter spoke to the authorities concerned in J&K and recommended the IGP's name for a significant posting in the state. Following his recommendation, the state PHQ had decided to give him a good posting. "The IGP has told the PHQ that he is interested in serving at only one place and there will be no difficulty in posting him there as the officer, who is presently holding the post, has already completed his tenure," the sources added. "The IGP, who is considered efficient in state police circles, has now started activating his old sources in the state to use them at the right time," sources said. |
