Jammu, Aug 24: Protest sparked over alleged 'mismanagement' during a recruitment rally of BSF in Akhnoor area on city outskirts here. Nearly 7,000 to 8,000 youth from Jammu region this morning assembled at Akhnood based BSF headquarters for registration, police here said.
"There were only limited vacancies of around 500 to 600 posts to be filled up but due to heavy rush of recruits, there was total chaos on the spot," police added. Police said that the recruits alleging mismanagement by the BSF authorities, staged protest and blocked the highway. "Some of the protestors also pelted stones," police added.
"We acted promptly and with the help of BSF men, the situation was handled and the protestors dispersed when different dates for registration were announced on the spot," they added. No injury or damage was reported in the protest by the recruits, police added. |
