Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 24: Virtually showing him his place, PHQ has reduced the security cover of a retired DIG by taking back six of his PSOs. He had retained the army of PSOs even after his retirement last year, police sources said and added that he was now allotted only one PSO. PHQ reduced his security cover and allotted him one PSO as per its order No 2422. Though a copy of this order had been sent to him by post, he was apprised of the PHQ order telephonically also. Earlier also, he was asked to return his PSOs, but he paid no need to the verbal orders of senior police officers, forcing PHQ to issue an order in this regard. The PSOs, who had been retained by him, including an ASI, one Havaldar, two selection grade constables and two cops. They belonged to security, armed police, IRP and Samba district. Apart from protecting his house, they had been doing all his household works, sources informed. While the withdrawn PSOs had been asked to report back to their original places of posting and battalions, they were yet to be relieved. At the time of his retirement, the DIG held a significant post in Jammu region. |
