JAMMU, Aug 25: The ultras and separatists have started a dangerous trend in Kashmir Valley by involving small children from age group of six to 12 in stone pelting and road blockades in various parts of the Kashmir Valley in general and South Kashmir in particular during the ongoing mob violence following the killing of dreaded terrorist BurhanWani.
According to sources the intelligentsia in Kashmir is totally perturbed over this growing trend and fears worst if the trend was not arrested immediately. The saner elements in Valley though want to raise their voice but due to fear of gun and terrorists wrath they prefer to maintain a stoic silence, sources added.
Sources said even the parents of these children are not in a position to oppose the move as the terrorists and anti national elements who use these children as a cover exploit them by giving smalls tiffs or toffees asking them to take stones and lathis (sticks ) in their hands and lace stones on the roads to stop the vehicular traffic. They are being asked to attack the drivers or two wheelers who dare to violate the dictates of ultras and run their vehicles on roads.
Some videos which became viral reveal these facts that how the small children in the age group of six to 12 years carrying sticks in their hands are blocking the roads at various places in Kashmir Valley and attacking the vehicles as well as drivers. This is a dangerous trend and will affect the future of these youth by terming it totally bleak. This way the ultras and separatists on the behest of Pakistan are taking Kashmir to stone-and uncivilized age, feel the well thinking people in the Valley.
Sources said though there is a simmering resentment against this trend among the well meaning people of Kashmir, but they can't muster courage to counter the same and challenge the ultras and separatists to which direction they are pushing the Kashmir. There are many reasons for the same and one of it is that the government both at State and Centre has not so far been able to create a confidence among these people that Government will solidly back them in case they can break the logjam, sources added.
Sources said but during the last 48 days now both State and Central governments have not been able to rope in such well meaning people in the Valley and start channels of communication with them by seeking their active cooperation in tiding over the present crisis by mobilizing a public opinion in the length and breadth of Valley that which direction Kashmir is moving.
Instigating the small children from the age group of six to 12 to stone pelting, violence and road blockade by a handful of vested interests fully indicates that these people are neither the well wishers of these children nor are interested in prosperity of Kashmiris but they want to push Kashmir to the wall and enjoy its peril. Otherwise no civilized society will stoop to such a level and instigate the small children books and pencils in their hands to violence. An octogenarian man in South Kashmiri who had been witness to progress of Kashmiri since independence in 1947 as well as the unrest and turmoil which started after 1989 while commenting on the present situation said that he can't say any thing more except to pray almighty to show the right path to the prophets of doom who are hell bent on the destruction of Kashmir and Kashmiris.
