Bhaderwah, Aug 25: In a major fillip to the sports activities in Bhaderwah, the State Government is likely to provide multi-utility indoor stadium to Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University to explore the sports skills among the youths of this area. This information revealed by none but the Secretary J&K Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra himself who stated that the Government of India has provided Rs 4 Crore each for construction of indoor sports stadiums in all the 22 districts of the State and indoor sports stadium for Doda district will be established in Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University . Mr Parra said, "These stadiums would offer multi-utility sports facilities for the local youth to groom their talent." Rector Bhaderwah Campus -Jammu University Prof G M Bhat said that the Sports complex shall have all the modern facilities including multipurpose sports hall, gymnasium, fencing hall, judo-karate hall, indoor games, etc. "This two storied Multi-Disciplinary Sport Complex will house four suites which will host players and coaches of international and national repute, changing room, international size hall of 40x 25 meters, 5 other halls of 18×20 meters each for conducting different games and one meeting hall for discussing the strategies for holding national and international events, he said giving technical statistics of the proposed sports stadium, he added. He said, "The complex will have provision for many games under one-roof including Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Gymnastics, Wrestling, all Martial-Art games (Judo, Karate, Wushu), Badminton, Table Tennis, etc." " The Sports Complex has been designed on international pattern with German made maple-wood flooring and LED lights, he added. Rector Bhaderwah campus further has hoped that Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association also shall fulfill its promise to construct CricketStadium in Bhaderwah campus soon. |
