Let there be an end to deceitful and misleading politics: MPEJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 25: Welcoming Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to Jammu & Kashmir state at Srinagar to assess 48-day long unrest in the valley, which has claimed 68 lives and left nearly 8000 injured, more than half of them para-military and police personnel, the members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice have said that the main cause of the present situation in J&K state is due to the high-level political corruption which gave rise to the militancy, drugs smuggling, adulteration in food items, fake medicines, price rise etc. MPEJ said that the poor people of Kashmir know that many favourites of politicians were promoted from the post of mali in forest department to that of DFO ignoring the talented & deserving Kashmiri youth by the previous governments. This is only one example of corruption & there are dozens of them elsewhere (like JKCET scam) etc. Such instances of corruption & injustice are one of the causes of militancy in J&K state, it alleged. The poor Kashmiris' have always been exploited by the Kashmiri politicians by dirty techniques of showing Pakistani salt and green cloth to win the election. This is the reason of Kashmiri politicians' double speak, who speak different languages in Kashmir and out of Kashmir; when they are in power and out of power, they said. They further said that the people of the entire three regions are fed up of the divide & rule politics of all the traditional political parties who are playing religion cards for the personal interest and always bring rich & criminal people into politics but care least about the real problems confronting the common masses e.g adulteration, fake medicines and so on. Public want a politics of humanity & not the politics of religion or hate it said. Perhaps now the Kashmiri politicians have understood that time for honest politics has come and that is why the parties which had previously boycotted talks with Home Minister now showed great willingness to talk to him. Perhaps they have understood that befooling the people is no longer possible now. |
