Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 26: The Modi government has decided to start engagements to break the logjam after about 50-day of violence and unrest in the valley. The Prime Minister will hold deliberations with the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday and the process can be initiated after the meeting.
The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has reached N Delhi and is being briefed by the senior officials of the home ministry and the intelligence services about the level of engagements being made and the also how to end this cycle of the violence.
"She will hold final consultations with the Prime Minister and if any announcement is to be made, it has to be made by the Chief Minister. As she is the person in the dock and also under intense pressure. The announcement or even an indication in this regard by her, could help her in reliving the pressure," said the senior official.
The indication of some back-channels working was given by the home minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar when he had said" We know how to end this process and also in what manner.
"It's clear from the statement of the home minister that some break through has been made by bringing in chinks in the separatist camp and also in the Pakistan establishment by bringing them on the board. They would help in ending this cycle of the violence . And that too would on the terms and conditions of India," said the official, wishing not to be quoted.
Sources said the CM has been asked to get more tough in cracking the violent protestors and it's for this reasons that she talked tough in the Srinagar at a press conference.
"The Indian government would not go all out to hold talks with the separatist but enough indications had been dropped that while they might be considered for talks but it would have to be with n the Indian constituton. This is what Mehbooba has also been saying so for the break through she would be credited, " said the officials.
