'Opportunity for anti-nationals to blackmail India'
Track-II talks with separatists draw flak

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 28: Nationalists forces are up in arms against the decision of the Central government to start track-II dialogue with the separatists and to adopt a soft approach towards resolving the present crisis in Kashmir.
"BJP changing its stand vis-à-vis Kashmir and deciding to engage separatists through back channels is not a good sign as it would embolden the anti-national elements and would provide them with a chance to blackmail the state and the central government," said an analyst.
He said, "BJP has to stick to its stand that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and no one can snatch it from India. One can understand that restoring normalcy is the priority for the central government but normalcy cannot be restored at the cost of compromising with national interests."
There are speculations that New Delhi has already constituted a team of a few people that would hold talks with the separatists through the back channels. "The talks have started at some level and separatists are being asked to use their influence, if any, to restore normalcy in the restive Kashmir Valley which has been witnessing anti-India protests and killings for the past 50-days ."
A defence analyst said, "One hopes that centre doesn't give undue importance to separatists as they are out to implement the agenda of their bosses sitting in Pakistan. I don't think that separatists would agree to any solution which falls within the ambit of Indian constitution as they cannot afford to annoy their bosses sitting across the Line of Control."
He said, "The best way to deal with the anti-nationalists forces is to put them behind the bars and show them their real place. I don't think that decision of the Government of India to engage separatists will work."
A politician, who wished not be named said, "The present unrest in Kashmir has exposed Pakistan to the hilt as entire world has come to know that Pakistan is fomenting trouble in the Valley and its abetting terrorism. India should have hit back and destroyed all the militant camps operating in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) rather than surrendering before the separatists."
He said, "When BJP was out of power it used to make tall claims that it would teach Pakistan a lesson and terrorism won't be tolerated. How come know it has changed its stance. The only way to restore everlasting peace in Kashmir is to reclaim PoK, which has become the hub of anti-India activities, and to carry out strikes to wipe out the terrorists camps. Separatists in Kashmir are nothing more than the stooges of Pakistan and ISI."
