Building gutted in fire incident at Sarthal

Kishtwar Aug 28: A single storey building belongs to Farooq Ahmed Lone son of Wali Mohammad Lone Resident of remote Ladsa in Sarthal area of Kishtwar District on Sunday afternoon gutted in fire incident. As per the details available with "Early Times" the fire broke out in the upper storey of the building at around 12.45 PM and the whole building reduce to ruble before anything could do. The eye witnesses informed the "Early Times" that some people living adjacent to the ill fated house notice the flame and raised the alarm. Soon large number of villagers assembled at the spot and started rescue operation to control the flames from spreading to adjacent house and a mosque situated in densely populated locality of the village. The police from nearby police post also rush to the spot along with Patwar Halqa Karool Majid Kichloo to take the stock of the rescue and relief operation, but due to non availability of fire tender service station as fire brigade reach the spot only after covering distance of 45 KM from Kishtwar. The eye witnesses added that though the fire brigade reach the spot without wasting anytime, but till it reach the spot; the whole building collapsed like placards. It was all due to efforts of the local villagers and police, the adjoining homes and the mosque was saved after two hour long hectic operation. The eyewitness also informed that major LPG Cylinder blast also took place inside the building which also causes major damage to the building. As per initial reports, the cause of the is said to be electricity short circuit and police has registered the case and started its investigation. The officials informed that all the family members were at Kishtwar and no family members was present in the house when the incident took place added that after hearing about the incident, the family members also rush to the village.
