Jammu, Aug 29 : The Crime Branch of police today presented challan against two fraudsters who were alleged to have duped people in the name of home business. The challan was presented in the court of City Judge here against Parb Dayal Singh, son of Ishar Singh of Dhanwal Camp, Akhnoor (at present Sarwal), and Raman Sharma, son of Devi Dyal Sharma of Palanwala, Khour (at present Lajpat Nagar, Canal Road). A complaint lodged by one Joginder Singh, son of Raghunath Singh of Tinday Kalan, R S Pura, duly endorsed by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, was received in the CB office here, alleging therein that, after he came across an advertisement as regards the sale of disposal machines, he approached the company and paid Rs 2.30 lakh on October 9, 2013 vide receipt Nos 48 and 49 to one Raman Sharma, son of Devi Dayal Sharma of Shakti Nagar who promised to install the machine within 15 days. However, he later refused to provide him machine and allegedly took away his money through deceitful means. During the course of investigation, CB approached the registrar of companies, Jammu, to know if the Raman's company was registered with his office. The registrar of companies vide his office letter No DI&C/JRFS/Inf/ 12/251 dated August 4, 2016 submitted that no such company was registered with his office. From the reply of registrar of companies, it became clear that the accused had opened an illegal company without adopting any lawful procedure and duped people fraudulently. The accused were alleged to have collected Rs 28, 60,000 from unemployed persons by fraudulent means. After the completion of investigation, CB booked the accused under sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471, 201 and 120-B of RPC. (JNF) |
