Police unearthed a big inter-state drug racket running into Multi Lakhs

Jammu, Aug 29: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani' a special drive against drug launched by District Police Jammu a major success has been achieved by busting three interstate drug rackets in a single day. In three separate incidents police has been able to recover drugs costing Rs. Multi lacs in international market.
Police spokesman said that on intervening night of 28/29 August 2016 a naka party deployed outside the Shiv Temple Trikuta Nagar intercepted three vehicles bearing registration number MH31AH-0171 (Qualis) JK07-0235 (Tata Sumo) and JK03E-1763 (Swift). When Police Party asked them to get their vehicles searched they tried to flee away, finding something suspicious police party nabbed all the five persons and on their search recovered 15 Kgs. of charas from their possession. A case under FIR No. 167/2016 under section 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort. Policeidnetified the arrested as Suraj Parkash son of Ram Lal of Mumbai, Altaf Ahmed son of Hazar Shah of Mumbai, Ghulam Mohd Bhat son of Ghulam Mohi-udu-Din of Tanmarg Baramulla, Mohd Amin son of Ali Mohd and Mohd Sultan son of Abdul Rehman both residents of Bij Behara Anantnag.
Meanwhile, a special naka/patrolling party of Nagrota police station during patrolling on National Highway near Bambyal Morh intercepted a Maruti Car bearing Registration number JK13A-8481 and found three persons in suspicious circumstances. On their checking 7 packets of Charas weighing approximately 3.5 Kilos was recovered from their possession which was seized on spot.
A case under FIR No. 175/2016 under Section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Nagrota police station. Police identified the arrested as Bharat Bhushan son of Sita Ram of Raipur Ban Talab Auto Driver, Aqib Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Majeef Mir and Ghulam Nabi Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat both residents of Bij Behara Anantnag. In Narwal area, SI Waseem Mehraj along with his party laid a naka at transport Nagar Jammu. The party intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02 AE 5888 and on thorough search of the vehicle and the person inside 150 bottles of COERX banned syrup were recovered. Two persons namely Sanjay Sharma son of Bishan Dass and Raj Kumar Sharma son of Jai Paul Sharma of Udhampur have been arrested. A case under FIR under relevant section of law has been registered in the Police station Bahu Fort.
