Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 31: Delhi Public School, Jammu organized Inter House English Debate Competition for Classes IX to XII on the topic Patriotism is much misinterpreted and misused emotion today, in the school premises. The objective of the event was to sharpen critical thinking and analytical and communicative skills of the students. Rajarshi Rai - XI A of Yamuna House compered the event expressively. Participants from all five houses: Ganga, Tawi, Yamuna, Jhelum and Chenab participated enthusiastically and forwarded their opinions for and against the motion. The event was judged by Deputy Head Master, DPS, Jammu, Ravi Kotru and Coordinator, Pre-Primary Section, Preeti Abrol. The winner of the event was Mahavir Singh-XI B of Yamuna House. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ruchi Chabra said that the debate gave the opportunity for honest appraisal of our love for the nation and that it is time we understood implicit and explicit meaning of the term Patriotism. She gave away trophies and certificates of merit to all the winners. Chief Coordinator School, Umesh Sharma and Activity Coordinator, DPS, Jammu, Madhu Abrol were also present on the occasion. |
