Jammu, Aug 31: Continuing its drive against drug and narcotics smugglers under Op Sanjeevni brainchild by SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, Police today claimed to have arrested three persons alongwith the contraband of narcotics in two separate incidents across Jammu region. Police spokesperson said that Gandhi Nagar police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 40 grams of heroin from their possession. "On specific information, police party of Gandhi Nagar police station raised a special naka at Shastri Nagar cremation ground and intercepted an Inova vehicle bearing registration number JK02AH-8372, police spokesperson said. "During search of vehicle and two occupants in it, police recovered 40 grams of heroin from their possession", he said, adding that the duo was arrested and the consignment was seized. Police the duo has been identified as Rattan Lal son of Tunda Ram of Agra Chack and Sanjeevan Singh alias Laadi son of Balbir Singh of Falora RS Pura. Accordingly case under FIR No. 202/2016 U/S 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar and investigation is going on. The catch was made by the team headed by Insp Bishnesh Kumar SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by ASI Om Parkash under the supervision of Shazaad Salaria, SP City South, Jammu. Meanwhile, Katra police also arrested a drug peddler and recovered 5 grams of smack from his possession. "Acting on a specific input and during checking/frisking, Police team headed by ASI Parmjeet Singh in-charge Police Post Moori, under the Supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Addl SP Katra, the police team arrested one Surinder Kumar son of Gopal Krishan of Matyal Tehsil Katra Distt. Reasi and recovered 05 gms Smack from his possession, police said. In this connection, a case FIR No. 156/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Katra against the accused person and investigation is in progress. |
