adopted all along by the secessionists in the valley, pretending all is well on the other side of the border in the state. Fact remains that it is on expected lines as commanded by His Masters Voice referred to as HMV.
Pakistan is Messaih and protector of infidels. The undisputed fact is that these parrots from the valley and other side of the Pir Panjal speak what has been commanded by the Pakistan Aakas. They cannot afford to go against their masters' will and earn wrath in place of funds. That is why they ignore glaring facts and become deaf to the cry for help.
Simmering discontentment against Pakistan controlled Government is written large and bold on the Pakistan all over. People are protesting against elections being rigged thus making it hard to believe that Nawaz league had clean sweep in the recent 2016 Assembly election. According to official results Nawaz league secured 32 seats out 41 total seats based on direct voting. Opposition parties have been complaining of pre-poll rigging. According to history, whosoever heads Pakistan Government enjoys a win in the election.
POJK region has been under the tight grip of Pakistani state imposed undemocratic institutions through an interim Act 1974 and also been declared as 'Azad' Kashmir. But on the contrary, inhabitants have been referring to the so called 'Azad' Kashmir as POJK. Even political parties have also been using POJK since long time now. First it was written by Barrister Qurban, Founding Chairman JK People's National Party in its documents which was unanimously agreed.
From horde's mouth "Pakistani side of Kashmir region has been facing enormous problems. Local state administration has not been functioning since it was set up after overthrowing '' republic of Kashmir'' in 1947 but since Oct, 2005 killer earthquake hit this region state administration was badly exposed. Apparently local govt. has been elected by voters but it authority is less than a municipal committee. POK state assembly is a legislative assembly but it has no jurisdiction to make a law or amend a law by itself. It is the only legislative assembly in the world which has been elected by local people but it has been controlled by unelected, non- Kashmiri dignitaries, such as minister of Kashmir affairs, chairman Kashmir council, who happened to be Pakistani PM, chief secretary is one of the third top most administrators, who has more authority than POK PM. Ministry of Kashmir affairs is one of the Pakistani state federal ministries, its minister would be acting as a federal minister, who always have to be elected from Pakistan as a member of national assembly.
Neither Kashmiris can elect him nor can replace him. He is the one who can be called a king maker in POK region including occupied Gilgit and Baltistan.
He makes and breaks the POK Govts. on behalf of state secret services including Army GOC at Murree. One of them can decide who will run the show in POK and then circus can begin. POK region has been ruled by its interim constitution which popularly called as Act 1974. According to this document, all powers lie in Islamabad, even Pakistani PM can dismiss POK PM or entire government it depends on his mood and his background. If he is a military dictator, most probably he would like to dismiss whole POK government and if he is a civilian, he might dismiss PM or president of POK. This shameful drama has been going on since seven decades in POK region".
Act 1974 has been designed in such a way that it takes almost all powers from local elected government. Kashmir Council is an upper house of AJK region and it has 15 members half of them selected by Pakistani government and its head is Pakistani PM. Power lies in the hands of this unelected institutions imposed by Islamabad. Kashmir Council has authority to even collect taxes and other revenues from AJK citizen without consulting AJK government. Act 1974 has 56 clauses and 53 of them used by Kashmir Council. Government system has been made dysfunctional and disable through imposing unelected institutions from outside.
Deliverance apparatus have been badly failed to provide basic life facilities to local citizens. Unemployment is 90% among local educated youth and it has been forcing skilled and unskilled workers to migrate to other countries. As a result of economic hardship, 47% population has been living abroad and rest goes to seek employment in Pakistani cities where they take odd jobs.
Pakistan's fraudulent occupation of Gilgit-Baltistan.
People living in Gilgit-Baltistan face severe challenges to protect their own rights. Political activists accuse the Pakistan government of trampling upon the state subject laws and subsequently changing the demography of the region. Political leaders of Gilgit not only face life threats but are also discouraged to raise any issue related to human rights. Gilgit-Baltistan has suffered due to Pakistan government's unconcerned behavior. Various laws imposed by the Pakistan government targets rights activists and political leaders. Pakistan's intention to make Gilgit-Baltistan its fifth province is practically impossible. Gilgit-Baltistan not only faces Pakistan government's apathy but also its natural resources are being plundered by foreign players after the signing of the China-Pakistan economic corridor pact.
Over the years, any public interest demand for the people is treated treason and punished under Draconian laws. Life imprisonments are awarded to muffle pro-people voices and many have been languishing in jails without trail for years. Various laws imposed by the Pakistan government targets rights activists and political leaders.
Map of the state of Jammu and Kashmir published by the Pakistan's Ministry of Kashmir Affairs in February 1954 shows Gilgit and Baltistan both in terms of area and population, as part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Also the maps published by Survey of Pakistan continued to show the Northern Areas as part of 'AJ&K' as late as up to 1987.
The geographic details and explanation of the areas under Pakistan, as given in the constitutions of 1956, 1962 and 1973, do not cover Northern Areas as part of Pakistan. When Martial Law was imposed in 1958, it was not extended to Northern Areas, because according to the principle stand of Pakistan, these areas (still) did not belong to Pakistan [Their fate was yet to be decided].
Kashmiri parties regularly protested all over the world outside Pakistani High Commission and other forums against fraudulent occupation of Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistani governments fooled people for too long by claiming that they took control of Gilgit-Baltistan as a result of the Karachi Agreement which was allegedly signed by President of Azad Kashmir and Minister of Pakistan Mushtaq Gurmani on 28 April 1949. Later on President of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Ibrahim Khan, more than once, revealed that he never signed any agreement regarding Gilgit Baltistan. What this means is that Pakistani presence in Gilgit-Baltistan is illegal and is based on fraud and lies; hence all subsequent actions are null and void. People of Pakistani occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have started a campaign against the Pakistani occupation and their illegal presence in that region. Protest marches and seminars have been held in various parts of the world, including Pakistan, Gilgit Baltistan. The other day Abdul Hamid Khan, Chairman, Balawaristan, National Front (BNF), represented to Mr. Ban-ki- Moon Secretary General United Nations seeking his intervention to ask Pakistan to stop human right violations, vacate illegal occupation and get implemented UNCIP resolution on 28th April 1949, which asked Pakistan to withdraw its citizens and Military within the period of 3 months. These elements work for Pakistan misguiding people here fanning religious rhetoric. Using tiny-tot children in formative stage, women are too killed in the name of saving their teenage siblings as fodder. What a sinister design they formulate using their near and dears not a single from their own families..
