Jammu, Sept 24 : First Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, M A Chowdhary has ordered the conviction of five brothers in an attempt to murder case. They included Krishan Lal alias Kala, Rinku, Raj Kumar alias Raju, Jodh Raj and Gulshan Kumar, all sons of Manga Ram Batwal of Sajjadpur. According to the police case, one Tripta Devi of Sajjadpur lodged a verbal complaint with police on January 10, 2005, alleging therein that the five real brothers had launched a murderous attack on her husband Kuldeep Raj with sharp-edged weapons while he was returning home from fields. An old enemity was cited to be the reason behind the incident. She said when one Bishan Dass, son of Amarnath Batwal of Sajjadpur, tried to save her husband, he too was stabbed in the head and other parts of the body. The injured were shifted to hospital by the family members with the help of some villagers. After hearing the two sides, the judge ordered their conviction and also fined them Rs 2,500 each. For failing to deposit the fine, they would have to undergo one year imprisonment, the court directed.(JNF) |
