JAC to approach BJP for action against Abdul Gani Kohli | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: Joint Action Committee (General Category) has expressed strong resentment and called for removal of tainted Minister Abdul Gani Kohli and Secretary Animal Husbandry Department who have brazenly voilated the standing orders of Supreme Court on the issue of " Reservation in Promotions". In a meeting held today presided over by Ved Prakash Sharma and was attended by Narayan Singh , President Rajput Sabha, Vinod Gupta ,President Central Mahajan Sabha and other leaders including employees of various Government Departments, it was held that despite the fact that many senior officers are available with the department, Mohd Yousuf Chaproo who belongs to reserved category and falls at Sr. No 93 in the seniority list of the department has assumed the charge of the Director Animal Husbandry Deptt Kashmir at the behest of the concerned Minister and Secretary Incharge of the Department. Chaproo after assuming the charge is signing in the capacity of Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir and has occupied the chair. It is pertinent to mention that deserving candidate belonging to general category Kewal Krishan Bhardawaj, existing at Serial No 20 in the seniority list has been ignored by the higher authorities on the verbal instructions of Minister Incharge , Animal Husbandary Department and made to stagnate at his current post . The Joint Action Committee has expressed anguish and dismay over the issue considering the fact that the High Court has quashed the reservation in promotion rules and the Supreme court had directed to maintain status quo. The GAD circulars in vogue currently have also stated that no reserved category candidate should be promoted till the outcome of the writ petition in the Supreme court. Joint Action Committee unanimously resolved to appeal the top brass of BJP and make them aware of flouting of the court directions by the concerned Minister and breach of oath taken by the Minister while assuming the charge of Minister. JAC will take the fight to streets and file contempt proceedings against the erring officers/ministers if the directions of Supreme Court are flouted and undue benefit is bestowed by any means to the reserved category candidates.
