Jammu, Sept 25: PDP MP and former deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has taken another twist, in seemingly unending twists and turns, by coming out openly in support of the Chief Minister. His support at this juncture seems to be aimed at getting at some sort of top slot after the exit of Karra from the party. Muzzaffar Hussain Beigh, who had just few days ago, had said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should quit if she feels that the alliance is not working as per the agenda of alliance. It was believed to be another sort of veiled threat to the chief minister, who already is facing through tough times. But, today he came out openly in her suppor We have full confidence in the abilities and leadership of "Mehbooba Ji that she will lead the people out of this morass and quagmire. And I appeal every stakeholder to strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister so that a workable solution to our issues is realized," he said. It's a clear indication that he has decided to throw his weight behind the CM. "Beigh is very articulate person and also plays his cards to meet the situation. After the exit of Karra, who was a strong competitor to him, he now feels that there is strong chance of him getting a top slot may be in the central cabinet," said a senor top PDP leader, PDP now has just one MP, with Mehbooba back to the state and Karra having quit. Earlier, with three MPs especially Mehbooba also, the choice of making either of them as a cabinet minsietr was very tough choice to make for the later Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, though there were other political limitations. "But now with just Beigh only MP and Kashmir passing through tough times, there are possibilities that he may become a minister, especially when he made fiery speech in the parliament and also in the all-party meeting called by the PM, which may believe was to the liking of the PM, " said the leader. |
