Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25: The 122nd birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated with full enthusiasm at Maharaja Hari Singh chowk sector A Sainik Colony Jammu. The function was organised by Jai Singh ex corporator Sainik Colony. Raman Bhalla ex minister was the chief guest. Zorawar Singh Jamwal general secretary Press club was the guest of honour. On this occasion large gathering of the people was seen. Maharaja Hari Singh was a secular king and he worked for upliftment of the people. He brought many changes like finishing untouchability, widow remarriage. He merged the state of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Many demands were put up before the govt. These included, Airport of Jammu should be named after Maharaja Hari Singh, University of Jammu should be named as Maharaja Hari Singh university, New created stadium be named on the name of Maharaja Hari Singh, Gazetted holiday be announced on the birthday of Maharaja Gulab Singh and a big statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh to be installed at Lakhanpur border The prominent personalities on the occasion included Jai Singh ex corporator, Raman Bhalla ex minister, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Anand Khajuria, S.S.
