Rajouri, Sept 26: The presence of four suspects in Bhakhar village under the jurisdiction of Sunderbani Police Station was informed by a guard after which the Army and police launched a search operation in the area last evening. The search operation was continuing till last reports came in today. According to Atul Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nowshera, a guard notified about a group of unidentified suspected persons who had reached at Bhakar village on the Jammu-Poonch highway around 1 am on the intervening night of 24 and 25 September. The guard was approached by the four men to enquire about the route that they were possibly onto. According to police sources, the group could have infiltrated from across the LoC in Sunderbani recently and for their movement are possibly even using GPS for journey to their target. The guard informed the police in the early hours and a joint search operation was launched immediately the police and the Army. "The information may be a hoax, but it is the duty of security forces to carry out a search operation to eliminate anti-national elements, if any," said SSP Rajeshwar Singh as quoted by a media report. |
