Jammu, Sept 28: The Hindi Fortnight (Hindi Pakhwara) has been concluded with celebration of "Hindi Diwas" today at Jammu and Kashmir Geo-spatial Data Centre, Survey of India, Jammu. During the fortnight, directions were issued to complete all the official work compulsorily in Hindi. All the Administrative & Technical works were done in Hindi language and efforts were done to remove the hurdles in the way of using Hindi language. On this occasion, Dr. O.P.N. Dwivedi, Associate Professor, Jammu University was invited as Chief Guest. In his speech, Dr. Dwivedi points out the role of poor labourer class, who come in Jammu from other states in search of work, for promoting Hindi language. He quotes two lines of famous poet "Koun Kehta hai aasma mein surakh nahi hota, Ek partner to tabiyat se uchalo yaaro" which means that one has to put on whole-hearted effort in order to achieve the desired goal in context of promoting Hindi language in all the regions of India in order get it official status. Pardeep Singh, Director, Survey of India, Jammu, during his speech, says that as compared to the other languages, Hindi is very easy to speak and learn. He praises the use of Hindi in both administrative & technical works. Various competitions were held during this fortnight to promote the knowledge of Hindi and its use in official work. |
