Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: NIA Special Judge Kishore Kumar today granted 10 days police remand of the two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants of PoK who are accused in the Uri attack case in which 18 army jawans were martyred. Faisal Hussain Awan (20), son of Gul Akbar of village Podha Jhandgra in Muzaffarabad, PoK, and Ahsan Khursheed (19), son of Choudhary Khursheed of village Khaliana, Khurd, Muzaffarabad, were arrested by NIA in the Uri attack case. A team of NIA, headed by SP Atul Goel, produced both of them in the court, seeking their police remand. After perusal of the CD file, the court observed that the accused were arrested by NIA, New Delhi, for offences under sections 302, 307, 124 (A) and 120-B, 121, 121-A of RPC and section 7/27 of Arms Act and 15/16 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967. The court observed that both the terrorists 'are working for terror outfit JeM to wage a war against Government of India and since investigation of the case is at its initial stage, their custodial interrogation is needed to unearth the larger conspiracy against the nation hatched by JeM and other over ground supporters'. "Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, stage of the investigation and the nature of offences, this application is allowed and the accused are remanded to police custody for 10 days from today up to October 7, 2016. Their medical examination be got conducted as required under law," the court ordered. |
