JAMMU, Sept 28: A "tainted" senior officer in the J&K Housing Board, who was removed from his post due to allegation of corruption and nepotism, was again reinstated on the same post allegedly due to big deal. Interestingly the same officer was attached to another wing of the department after the concerned minister received a number of complaints regarding corruption.
But within couple of months after his attachment, the same officer was reinstated on the same posts. And this decision of the government has raised many eye-brows. Transferring a tainted officer from plum post and again reinstating him on similar post within a couple of month has exposed government claims of providing corruption free administration to the people.
Credible sources in the corridors of power said that a deal was struck at higher level to re-instate the transferred tainted officer on the same post. People are pointing finger of suspicious towards many influential people because without approval of the higher ups it was not possible to reinstate the same officer on the same post, from where he was transferred on the charges of corruption.
Credible sources revealed that after being transferred from the plum, which he had been occupied for the last over a decade, the influential officer looked after some links so that he got the deal struck. Some relatives of a BJP minister were also lured by the said officers to again get the same plum posting. It was only after inference of relatives of BJP minister and involvement of some PDP leaders that a deal was struck and the tainted officer was re-instated on same post.
Credible sources further revealed that the "tainted" officer had reportedly lured relatives of BJP minister by making them partner of the deal. Sources further revealed that the "tainted" officer was earlier very close to some National Conference (NC) leaders but after formation of new dispensation he established contact with PDP and BJP leaders by using his influence. |
