Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 29: The Hindi Cell in collaboration with the Board of Students Publication (BSP) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra celebrated Hindi Pakhwada from 14 to 28 September 2016. The celebration was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU. Various competitive and fun events such as Story and Poem Writing, Hindi Pitch Competition, Essay Writing, Handwriting Competition, Extempore, and Debate were organized during the fortnight. The celebration concluded on 28th September with a Kavi Sammelan and other cultural programs. The chief guest of the valedictory session was Prof. V.K. Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, SMVDU and Prof. Shiv Nirmohi from Panthal graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Prof. Raj Kumar, Head, Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages, Central University of Jammu and Dr. Chanchal Dogra, (retd.) Principal, MAM College, Jammu were the invited poets in the Kavi Sammelan. Internal poets included Dr. Amitabh Dwivedi, Asst. Prof., Department of Languages and Literature, Vivek Kumar and Shubham Mishra from Electronics and Communication Engineering, Manglam Mishra, Computer Science and Engineering, Paras Dubey, Department of Economics and Anurag from the Department of Architecture and Landscape Design. The Kavi Sammelan was very ably conducted by Vivek Kumar. It was followed by enthralling song and dance performances by the students and the wards of faculty and staff. The cultural performances included mesmerizing presentation of Bharat Natyam by Neha Sharma and Sunidhi Bhatia under the guidance of Nidhi Atri. Faculty kids Hotrika, Varnika and Sharvi also influenced the audience with their cute performances. After the performances, prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners of various competitions by Prof. Bhat. |
