jammu, Sept 30: Under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, the Chain Hunger strike entered the fifth day with the fresh batch under the leadership of P.D. Singh, Secretary Jammu district, Rajinder Kumar, vice-president zone Jammu, Mohd. Shahnaz general secretary, zone Jammu & Vijay Kumar, secretary zone Marh sat on the hunger strike at Directorate of School Education, Jammu. The protesting teachers, masters & lecturers expressed strong resentment against the apathetic and adamant attitude of the Director School Education Jammu, which has brought the working of the Directorate at stand still which is causing so many hardships to the aggrieved teachers, masters, lecturers from different districts affected by the recent large scale transfers made by the DSEJ in violation of existing norms and adopting pick and choose policy to appease their nears and dears, are running from pillar to post to get justice. But the education authorities have maintained a criminal silence on the grievances of the teaching community which shows the height of insensitiveness on the part of those sitting at the helm of affairs. The Forum decided to extend the chain hunger strike for five more days upto 5th of October 2016 in a more intensified manner while addressing the gathering the Forum leaders warned the govt. to desist from anti-teachers policies and demanded immediate issuance of modification orders to those who are badly affected. The leaders also stressed upon the education authorities to immediately release the Master Grade list whose DPC was held in February 2014. The promottee masters rendered juniors to their counterparts in Kashmir Division, hampering the promotion prospects to the Higher Grades. Prominent who participated in the demonstration included Ganesh Khajuria, State General Secretary, Rajinder Gupta, Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Narinder Chib, Devinder Singh Marh, Mohd Qayoom, Rajiv Chaddha, Dewan Singh, Ganesh Dutt Sharma, R.P. Bali, Naresh Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Rajiv Sharma, Viyom Rattan, Goldy Singh Walia, Ajay Kumar and many others. |
