GDA misleading Judiciary-III
Sealed illegal restaurant opened
10/20/2016 10:16:40 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 20: During its so called anti encroachment drive few weeks ago , Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) sealed several hotels and restaurants at Gulmarg. During the process GDA squad lead by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) sealed a restaurant owned by Grand Mumtaz Hotel. The doors of the restaurant were completely sealed by the GDA team. When the team left the site , restaurant owner removed the seal and GDA did not dare to take any action against him.
GDA has always remained in news for its failure to act against the blue-eyed people particularly the influential hoteliers who have huge properties in Gulmarg.
The GDA continues to mislead the Judiciary which is hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) from last few years vis a vis illegal constructions in Gulmarg. The GDA in-spite of the fact that it marked several structures as illegal has failed to demolish them and instead demolished some makeshift tin sheds and seized old hotels constructed more than 4 decades ago.
As already reported GDA even failed to demolish a restaurant which was constructed on the land owned by GDA . The doors of the restaurant were sealed by GDA team , but the seal was broken by restaurant owner and GDA failed to act against him.
Pertinent to mention that Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) marked several illegal structures , restaurants, hotels with white paint as " GDA Land" many weeks back , but the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GDA never ordered for their demolition inspite of the fact that these structures (hotels , restaurants) are constructed on the land owned by GDA. In a drive during early this months GDA team marked a restaurant with white paint (see pic attached) which owned by Grand Mumtaz Group, but it was never demolished. The restaurant was also sealed , but the seal was opened within few hours only….
The restaurant located adjacent to Grand Mumtaz hotel was constructed on Govt land owned by GDA , but even after being marked as illegal , GDA CEO failed to demolish it and instead demolished tin sheds.
