JAMMU, Oct 21: National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day Parade was observed in Jammu Zone in all 10 Districts where impressive functions were organized by concerned District Police with large scale participation of senior Pofice Officers and prominent Citizens. The main function was conducted at Gulshan Ground Jammu
Kathua Police today observed Police Commemoration Day in the memory of Police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar alongwith Senior Police Officers of District Kathua paid floral tribute to Police Martyrs on Police Commemoration day also known as National Police Day.
District Rajouri Police under the supervision of M.Suleman Choudhry, SSP today organized a function at District Police Lines to commemorate the National Police Day in the memory of those policemen who had sacrificed their lives while on the duty.
During the function the names of the officers and the police personnel were read out who had sacrificed their lives for the nation during duty during 2915-16.
Besides large number of prominent citizens senior officers from Army, Param Miltary Forces, Civil Administration were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile yet in a similar occasion to pay tributes to the police personnel, who laid down their lives while guarding the sovereignty and territory of our country, Kishtwar people from all walks of society paid rich tributes to police martyrs on National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day observed across the State.
A large number of people from different walks of society including retired police officials, ex serviceman, government officials, politicians from ruling and opposition today participated in an impressive function of Police Commemoration Day organized by Kishtwar Police at District Police Lines today.
After paying floral tribute to over 33000 martyrs who laid down their lives for defending the nation’s sovereignty since the Independence of India including those of Uri terror and Pampore terror attack, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir took the salute of the parade contingent on this day.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Kishtwar especially mentioned the martyrdom of DySP Karam Singh who was the first officer who laid down his life for the sake of the nation at the hot springs in Ladakh while guarding the integrity and territory of motherland. He said 10 gallant CRPF personnel laid down their precious lives while repulsing the Chinese attack at Hot Springs, Ladakh on 21st October 1959.
SSP Kishtwar also read out the names of 473 police personnel of Police/Security Forces who laid down their lives upholding the sovereignty and integrity of the country on duty during the period 01.09.2015 to 31.08.2016.
National Police Day was observed at District Police Lines Doda today.
DDC Doda Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas and officers from polce and civil administration paid tributes to the martyrs .
