After Govt sanctions relief for auto rickshaw owners, other victims pin hope on Mehbooba

jammu, Oct 22: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has done a commendable job by sanctioning a relief of Rs 3.87 lakh in favor of 3 auto rickshaw owners whose vehicles were set ablaze by miscreants but still there are large numbers of other deserving victims of the on-going unrest in the Kashmir Valley who are eagerly waiting for the compensation.
While as some miscreants burnt residential quarters of Kashmiri Pandit employees in Nutnasu camp Kupwara on August 31, 2016 but no compensation has been sanctioned for them so far. Similarly on October 17 miscreants set two passenger vehicles ablaze on the outskirts of Srinagar for violating the protest calendar of separatists.
Two Sumos were set on fire on their way from north Kashmir to Srinagar when the vehicles were intercepted by some masked men at Parimpora early morning of October 17 for violating the shutdown call. The passengers were asked to alight and petrol bombs were thrown on the vehicles, causing extensive damage.
On August 31, a group of miscreants set on fire quarter number 14 belongs to AnkurPandita and Sunita Bhat, quarter number no C2, belonging to Sunil Pandita and ParadeepBhagati, quarter number A11 belongs to Sanjay Koul and quarter number A 11 belong to AshwaniPandita. These quarters were completely alongwith belongings and other valuables worth lakhs burnt to ashes by the miscreants at Nutnasu camp.
Although a FIR no 231/2016 under sections RPC 148, 149,307, 336, 427 and 436 has been registered but no compensation has been sanctioned for the victim families. These families have reppeately urged Chief Minister to address their issues on humanitarian ground.
On 4 October, some miscreants had set ablaze three auto rickshaws in Srinagar and after the incident; Government had announced that their cases shall be considered sympathetically for adequate relief to enable them to earn their livelihood. On Friday Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 1.29 lakh each in favor of the three affected persons to enable them purchase new vehicles and earn their livelihood.
