Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Mandi, Oct 23: After a long struggle by social organisations, Mandi tehsil has got a tehsildar after six months. Aqil Nawaid was transferred in the month of March this year from Mandi, after that the chair of tehsildar was waiting for a new tehsildar. During this period the social organisations and NGOs were demanding new tehsildar, and after struggling for a long, government commiserated and posted a new tehsildar for Mandi. However due to continued absence of new tehsildar from his office, locals are suffering much. Locals expressed their resentment over the carelessness of the officer and said he hardly visits Mandi once in a week. People said while they come to tehsil headquarter for any official work, they find tehsil without tehsildar. Wali Mohammad Sheikh, Mohammad Aslam and many other in this regard said that this type of tehsildar must be transferred back as early as possible, who cannot attend the office with punctuality. They appealed to deputy commissioner Poonch Muhammad Harun Malik and state chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in the matter and provide the honest, and punctual tehsildar for Mandi tehsil as it is the far flung and backward tehsil of the state. |
