People want normalcy not bloodshed
Sunday market remains open in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 23: The people from all parts of Kashmir were seen busy buying different items at famous Sunday market here today, the movement of people have sent a strong message to the separatists and other miscreants as they want normalcy in the valley.
After one hundred and six days, the hundreds of people were seen busy buying warm clothes and other home items from local vendors at Sunday market in Lal chowk area of Srinagar the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
There were traffic jams at various places which gave tough time to the people who had come here for shopping from different places, while as the shops and other business establishments in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir were closed due to continuous strike given by separatists.
Bilal Ahmad of Soura Srinagar had come along with his family members for shopping in Sunday market, he is of the opinion that, Sunday market has brought cheers on the faces of poor people.
From past three months, our life has become a miserable due to continuous shutdown in Kashmir all the important sectors including tourism got affected, said Bilal Ahmad.
Another visitor Fahmida Gul of Budgam said that, " I have come here to buy some utensils and carpets for my newly constructed house, as we couldn't get these items at our place due to continuous strikes."
"Though from past few days there was a relaxation for few hours from 5 pm onwards, but due to short days and rush of people in the market, there is also a shortage of important items in various shops and stores," she added.
A group of people said that, nothing has been achieved from past three months of strikes in Kashmir as everything got affected, including continuous closure of schools and business establishments.
"We want normalcy and not bloodshed in Kashmir valley," they added. They said the schools and shops should be open without wasting any time.
