kathua, Oct 23: Hundred of kanals of government land are being openly encroached across district Kathua but leaders/prominent leaders of coalition partner in state government and union government, Bharatiya Janta party are shielding land mafia. There are instances where they too have been found involved in encroachment of land.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti reverted encroached land in Srinagar but BJP support the mafia in encroaching upon Irrigation Land, water bodies, pasture land, state land, Kashmir canal, Sahar Khad, Chann grann, Old BP canal, many tributaries etc . It seems that nobody is thee to stop the encroachments.
Revenue officers especially field staff, Girdawer and few Naib Tehsildhars allegedly tamper revenue records and send fake monthly report about encroachments to district administration Kathua.
The High court ordered status quo on few agricultural lands but the revenue officers openly convert agricultural/government land into commercial land.
Irrigation and state land from Lakhanpur to entire National highway has been encroached and big buildings constructed by puppets of J&K minister on government land. Open support of a minister encourages these elements to encroach land.
The people have sought appropriate action to put an end to the encroachments. |
