Lobbying at local level apart, leaders on the 'run' between RSS headquarters to New Delhi | BJP leaders working tirelessly on 'mission reshuffle' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 23: As the talk about possible reshuffle and expansion of the cabinet led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is gaining momentum, various community groups and leaders within BJP are on their toes to press their case with political quarters that matter in pushing through the final names for induction in the cabinet. For some days the speculations are rife that the expansion may happen anytime around Diwali or soon after Durbar Move arrives in the winter capital. Sources said while the rumours in the political corridors have it to say that PDP may take on board at least two ministers in the cabinet, BJP is likely to get just one berth. Even as only one BJP minister may get accommodated in the expansion exercise, this has prompted people associated with the party to get on their toes and actively move around the influential corridors. Sources further said not only the MLAs and MLCs are strenuously throwing all their might and energy this time to get inducted into the cabinet, but the leaders having community tag are utilizing all possible channels to the hilt. While Sikh leaders are strongly pleading the card of no representation by the party as yet to community despite the latter having supported it at hustings, Kashmiri Pandits are also lobbying hard both at New Delhi and RSS power centres to plead the case of the community representation. These two communities apart, certain leaders from the SC community are also trying to push hard their case contending there is inadequate representation to the community in the government and it is not commensurate with the number of Assembly seats won in 2014 Assembly polls, sources said. Sources further said that not to lag behind in this race for grabbing a chance to get ministry are some Muslim leaders from Kashmir who are strongly contending the case on the argument that it is for the first time the party has been able to garner a sizable number of vote share from Kashmir and therefore one of the leaders from Kashmir deserve to become minister in the PDP-BJP government. Sources further said there are some legislators of the party who are desperately trying to show 'inefficiency' of a couple of incumbent BJP ministers who are being disliked even by the own party cadres and leaders for various reasons who needed to be dropped and replaced by 'most suitable' legislator in the reshuffle exercise. While all these groups and individuals have got active, the local leadership is also learnt to be contemplating on the matter in order to give their opinion to central leadership before the expansion and reshuffle exercise happens. |
