NPSU stages protest demonstration against VC, CUJ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 24: National Panther Students Union (NPSU) today held protest demonstration against Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu for irregularities committed in selection of candidates for teaching and non-teaching positions in the varsity. According to press release, the activists of NPSU gathered at university main gate and burned the effigy of VC Central University and raised slogans "VC CU hai hai", VC Teray Raj May Andher Hi Andher Hai". The protest was led by the state President NPSU Thakur Virender Singh while addressing the media persons Singh lambasted that this is really matter of concern that the present VC of Central University have violated the UGC norms by asking the re-employed teachers to take the interview of teaching and non-teaching positions. According to UGC norms no contractual employees can hold the administrative and financial position at University, why the incumbent VC have violated the UGC norms is a big question mark? What has made him to do so is a matter to be inquired. Singh added that for all the subjects interview of which were conducted the list of shortlisted candidates uploaded on CUJ website was changed 4-5 times, which created a lot of confusion among the candidates those who were shortlisted in 1st list were dropped in the 2nd list while the same too dropped in next list for the reason best known to the selection committee. Singh urged Governor to intervene in the issue and demanded CBI inquiry of all the appointments made during the tenure of present incumbent VC. Others who were present on the occasion included Mr. Sumit Singh, Parabjeet Singh, Sudesh Badyal, Kewel Sharma, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Amit Chib, Shubam Chib, Sahil Mehta, Chetan Sharma, Atish, Rudar Pratap Singh etc. |
