Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 24: In custodial third degree torture at Police Station Dharamsaal, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Rajouri today directed SSP to conduct enquiry and register FIR, if cognizable offences found. The victim of police's atrocities in lock-up, Vikas Chandan moved a plea before the CJM Rajouri seeking action against brutality of police. "Forwarded to Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri under section 18(3) CrPc for detail enquiry and verification, within a week", order number 520/CJMR read and added that if any cognizable offences made out then register FIR. Earlier, the victim appealed the CJM to direct SSP Rajouri to registered a FIR against police officials who 'illegally' detained, abused, trashed and injected intoxicant to make him unconscious, to satisfy his ego, the undressed him in lock-up, under section 307 and 342. However, the sources said that the SSP Rajouri obeying CJM's order directed Additional Superintendent of Police, Nowshera to conduct probe into the matter. It is pertinent to mention here that the Dharamsaal Police on October 20, picked-up the victim when he was returning Kalakot from Jammu at Solki Bridge. During police custody, the victim was not only trashed mercilessly, but he was injected intoxicant and police also clicked his nude photographs, shared. |
