Kishtwar, Oct 24: Kishtwar Civil Society under the leadership of its chairman Raiz Ahmed Zarger on Sunday resolved to fight for establishment of permanent University Campus at Kishtwar so that over 2 lakh students from three Districts of Chenab valley may get benefit from the establishment of permanent University at Kishtwar. In an emergency meeting held at Dak Banglow Kishtwar, several political and non political activists along with social activist participated reaffirm its commitment of full support to Chairman till the desire result will be achieved beside also condemn the University authorities for blocking the funds to Kishtwar University Campus and other Campuses under the control of Jammu University as a result of which majority of Campuses are at the verge of collapse and added that they will approach the Chief Minister, Ministers, Political representatives and University Authority for permanent establishment of University at Kishtwar on the pattern of Islamic University Awantipura, Mata Vashnu Devi University and BGBU Rajouri. They said that three Districts of Chenab valley had 9 government colleges and over 50 Higher Secondary Schools having student strength of more than 50000 and added that thousands of students every year went outside state for seeking admission in various courses as a result of which there was huge financial burden on their families. They said that there is immediate need for starting of Job oriented courses in Kishtwar university campus, beside also laid stress on starting of MA English, Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Sanskrit, Sociology, Education, History, Economics,M.SC in Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, BBA,BCA, MCA, MBA, B.SC IT, five year law courses and the subjects being taught at school and college levels. They said that political parties instead of issuing the misleading statements, should concentrate on help them in sought out the issue rather than becoming the part of the problem. While talking to "Early Times" Raiz Ahmed Zarger said that Kishtwar District is the hilly and backward district of the state with poor Education infrastructure, beside added that majority of the people of Kishtwar District are very poor and cannot effort the studies outside home. He said that under present era when education has become the need of every house hold in the country, Kishtwar District is lacking behind in education sector and only upper class and middle class families are making fortunes in education sector while poor students has been neglected in this field. He said that front is named as "Voice of Kishtwar" added that they were looking forward beyond Kishtwar University Campus by taking all stakeholders including local politicians on board so that Kishtwar District could flourish in developmental and education sector. He added that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was also gracious to look into the issue and had sought detail report from the University authorities over issue. He said that they are hopeful that Chief Minister will show her keen interest towards establishment of permanent University at Kishtwar. Among the prominent who participated in today's meeting include Syed Ahmad Shah, Imtiyaz Ahmed Zarger, Touseef Butt, Majid Zaffar, Asif Iqbal and others. |
