MHSVM remembers 'Brig Rajinder Singh' on his Martyrdom Day

Jammu, Oct 27: Maharaja Hari Singh Vichar Manch (MHSVM) , J&K, Jammu, paid rich tributes to the great warrior popularly known as 'Saviour of Kashmir' Brig Rajinder Singh on his Martyrdom day which falls on October 27 in a solemn ceremony at Sainik Colony in winter capital.
Chairman B S Jamwal Advocate, Jurists London, Sanjeev Manmotra (Vice Chairman), Parkash Singh Jamwal (Gen Secy), Kulbir Singh, Satpal Singh Jamwal, Army Officers, Bureaucrats and many others participated on this special ceremony.
In his tributes Adv B S Jamwal remembered Saviour of Kashmir Brig Rajinder Singh as a great warrior of the world and also appreciated the courage and the committed efforts by the late soul despite being well aware of consequences that his small contingent has to fought with the regular Army of over 6,000 that too equipped with all weapons and ammunitions. "If he had not challenged the Pakistan Invaders in which he had to sacrificed his life, history would have been changed and for that exceptional valour the late soul was honoured with first Maha Vir Chakra (posthumously) of independent India and even the title of Saviour of Uri/Kashmir was accorded to him as token of regards to late soul.
Meanwhile other speakers of the Manch also reiterated pending demand that late warrior deserves Param Vir Chakra and added that the Manch suggested the elected representatives that the Central Govt may be approached to award Param Vir Chakra for his supreme sacrifice.
Earlier the executive members of the Manch and others paid tributes to the great warrior- a son of the soil who was known for his courage and valour. They recalled Chief of the Army of His Highness Maharaja Bahadur, on October 22, 1947 after receiving the orders of Maharaja Hari Singh with 110 soldiers moved Muzaffarabad to counter the invading force of Pakistani Army- in disguise of tribal invaders. "The order of His Highness was to defend the State, till the last man and last bullet, they said, adding, "Brig Rajinder Singh took the challenge fought bravely, delay their advance by blowing up Uri bridge and installing them in Mahura and Rampur for continuously four days but the fate has something elese for brave man who sacrificed his life in the field battle.
Meanwhile the Manch members also visited to the birth place of Brig Rajinder Singh and garlanded statue of late warrior installed at Rajinderpua- a hamlet dedicated to his name.
Thousands of locals also joined in the memorial ceremony to pay rich tributes to son of soil.
