Early Times Report billawar, Oct 27: Government Degree College, Billawar in collaboration with the District Administration Kathua, organized a symposium on the topic "Vote for Democracy" under SVEEP here today. District Election Officer, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy District Election Officer, Chand Kishore Sharma, ERO, Rajesh Basotra and AERO,.Vishavjeet Singh were present on the occasion. Principal of the college, Prof. Suresh Kumar Sharma welcomed all the guests by presenting bouquet followed by his welcome speech. In all, eleven students participated in the symposium and threw light on the importance of 'Right to Vote in Democracy' and their performance were adjudged by a jury comprising of Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Prof Gurdayal and Prof Parveen Kumari on the basis of content, presentation and Pronunciation. Mohamed Bilal, student of Semester-III was adjudged winner of the symposium, whereas second and third prize clinched by Deepika and Keshav Bhadwal both of Semester- III respectively. The consolation prizes were given to all other participants. In his address District Election Officer and DC Kathua, Ramesh Kumar threw extensive light on the special summary revision of the electoral roll and exhorted upon all the eligible students to get them enrolled as voter.
