Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: Raising patriotic slogans on the occasion of 70th Accession Day of Jammu& Kashmir with the Union of India, hundreds of cars, scooters and other two wheelers of Panthers Party activists equipped with 'Tricolours' assembled at Janipur near Police Station and took out an impressive motor rally in the Jammu city spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers and other leaders.
The rally after passing through Janipur, New-Plot, Ambphalla, Panjtirthi, Pacca Danga, Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Rajinder Bazar, Shahidi Chowk,Residency Road, Gumat, finally culminated at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk Jammu where the Party leaders hoisted the National Flag with full honours and addressed the gathering.
Addressing the huge gathering on the occasion of Accession Day of J&K with Indian Union , Harsh Dev Singh reminisced that Maharaja Hari Singh on 26th October, 1947 signed the Instrument of Accession at Amar Palace in Jammu which was duly accepted and signed by Lord Mountbatten the then Governor General of India on 27th October, 1947 in Delhi.
He said that by virtue of this instrument, the State of J&K became an integral part of India. Mr. Singh exhorted the people to celebrate the Accession day on October 27 with fervor, gaiety and enthusiasm just like Independence Day and Republic day.
He said that under the Govt. of India Act 1935, the rulers of the various States were alone competent to take a decision with respect to the accession of their respective states. He further maintained that Maharaja Hari Singh having taken a voluntary, absolute and unconditional decision to accede to the Indian Union, the resultant accession fulfilled the legal requirements and hence is final, irrevocable and irreversible.
The former Education Minister regretted that of late Pakistan and ISIS flags are being waved brazenly in Kashmir by certain anti-national and anti-social elements in their vain bid to challenge the accession of state to Indian union. While taking a dig on the BJP he said that the Saffron party despite having governments both at the centre and in the State has miserably failed to apprehend the malefactors and felons in Kashmir who had fearlessly spewed venom and incited sedition against the country.
He wondered that how could BJP boast to claim the illegally occupied Indian territory from Pakistan when the belligerent neighbour had been persistently raking up Kashmir issue at the UN, US and other forums besides, the secessionists roaming freely in the valley . He vociferously asserted that J&K was, is and shall always remain an integral part of India.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal said that India has to retaliate aggressively now in the wake of Pakistan pounding the border villages all along the IB and LoC recently.
The leaders said that Pakistan should be given a befitting reply and taught an appropriate lesson for its misadventures and belligerent designs.
