Martyr day celebrated at Shaheed Garh Qila Dharal

NOWSHERA, Oct 28: Sikh people of Qila Dharal, Lam area organised martyr day in gurudwara shaheed Garh Qila Dharal of brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for save own motherland since 1947 to till now. Army officers and some politicians paid tribute to memorial place of brave martyrs.
A Guru ka langer parshad for thousands of sangets from Nowshera, Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab and other states was organized who had come in this program every year on same day .
Sikh sanget celebrates martyr day as Army always fully cooperate on this day. President of district Gurdwara Parvendek Committee Rajouri (DGPC) Bopinder Singh Tiger and stage secretary former Sarpanch Isher Singh also addressed Sangets and commanding Officer 21 GR MLC Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, MP Jughal Kishore Sharma, MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, former MLC Ravinder Sharma also gave tribute to memorial place.
They said during the invasion by riders and Pakistan army in 1947 the Sikhs of Lam Qila Dharal got together to defend their motherland. While the enemy captured Rajouri and reached Nowshera numerous attacks were repulsed in Dharal by the brave civilians and they held the front between 04th September 1947 to 28th October 1947 till arrival of the Indian army.
Singh said 28 October 1947 a fierce battle ensued in area of Dharal fort wherein heavy casualties were inflicted on the (Pak pathan) enemy hundreds of pathans was go back in Pakistan by the terror of civilian brave Sikhs. During the action jathedar Ram Singh, Hukam Singh, Sohan Singh, Suchan Singh laid down their lives for motherland and saved many area such as Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri, Kalakote and Akhnoor from Pakistan. If they couldn't fought with Pak Guerilla and pathan force then line of control (LOC) was Akhnoor to Reasi to via Udhampur to Kashmir.
In subsequent wars of 1965, 1971 and 1999 Kargil war the brave people fought shoulder to shoulder with the army all actions of the army were voluntarily guided by these people right up the objective where some laid down their lives fighting alongside.
They said most conspicuous was the gallantry and martyrdom of ex serviceman Pritam Singh who guided the attack to capture Lucknow and Peerbadessar post in 1965 they said but government of India couldn't gave these freedom fighters people.
