12/8/2016 10:16:28 PM
Early Times Report

Kathua, Dec 8: The Bar Association Kathua has unanimously decided to abstain from work in the courts till the FIR no.303/13 of Police Station Kathua for the commission of offences under Sec.188/353/ 504/ 506 RPC is withdrawn.
Actually a FIR No. 303/13 of Police Station Kathua for the commission of offences under Sec.188/353/504/506 RPC stands registered against an Advocate Atul Singh S/o Sh Subash Singh R/o Ward No.12, Kathua.
Arvind Kumar, President BAR Kathua appraised that on 13-08-2013, there was no curfew and the courts at Kathua were also working. The advocate Atul Singh was proceeding towards the Court of ALC Kathua and when he reached near Main Chowk Kathua, the SI Ajay halted him and started misbehaving with him and also used unwarranted force, lathi charge upon the advocate without any authority whatsoever.
The president informed that a complaint stand filed against the arrogant Police Officer, which is pending disposal in the Court of CJM Kathua and the next date in the same is fixed for 09-12-2016.
He added that in order to create counter pressure upon the Advocate/Complainant, the Police of Kathua under the directions of the Sr.S.P. Kathua and with the aide and direct assistance of SHO Police Station Kathua, has filed the challan against the Advocate Atul Singh in the Court of law on yesterday 07-12-2016, whereas the said challan is a pure outcome of revengeful and motivated attitude of the SI Ajay and the Kathua Police in order to malign the elite profession of Advocacy has deliberately filed the biased challan against an Advocate, which is been taken very seriously by the members of Bar Association Kathua.
Association members requested that the FIR No.303/13 of Police Station Kathua for the commission of offences under Sec.188/353/504/506 RPC may kindly be withdrawn at the earliest in the interest of justice and to restore Court's proceeding.
